If you’re an athlete, see an athlete!

All of our Doctors of Physical Therapy are competitive athletes, which gives them a unique perspective as sports physical therapists.

They relate first hand to the thrill, challenge, and rewards of participating in athletics. They also understand the deep frustration and emotion that comes when pain or injury holds you back.

They will combine their clinical expertise with their personal experience in athletics to help you get physically and mentally stronger than ever.

What Kind of Sports Injuries Does Iron Treat?

Our Doctors of Physical Therapy are movement experts who successfully treat individuals in activities such as swimming, cycling, running, triathlons, tennis, golf, skiing, weight lifting, crossfit, martial arts, boxing, hiking, yoga, pilates, dance, gymnastics, group fitness and more. If seeking PT for a student injured during school sports, please let us know as that insurance typically covers the physical therapy.

How Does Iron Treat Sports Injuries?

Our Doctors of Physical Therapy are certified in the latest techniques used in professional sports such as Active Release Technique and Graston Technique. You can see a full list of the techniques our DPTs use on the treatments page of our website.

Can PT Benefit Athletes Who Aren’t Injured?

Absolutely! Working with a physical therapist even when you’re not hurt is a powerful way to maximize sports performance and avoid injury in the first place. Many of our athletes come in during the off season just for a tune-up. During that type of appointment, your DPT can a) assess your overall movement patterns to uncover deficits that could lead to side-lining injuries and b) create a sport-specific program to address that weakness, asymmetry, lack of mobility, imbalance or instability.

Recovery

Recovery is a big factor in performance and injury prevention. IronPT now offers the secret tool professional athletes use to train harder, recover faster, and perform better. We welcome you to try our cozy recovery lounge featuring Normatec Compression Boots and Sleeves. Compression clears metabolic waste, reduces soreness and improves circulation so you can keep training!

Do you only treat athletes?

Iron is for everyone! Although we are uniquely qualified to work with athletes who want to maximize their performance, we individually work with each and every patient to move better, feel better and achieve their own goals.

Patient Success Stories

Words from his DPT:

Meet Malik, a talented defensive back at American International College! It's been exciting to see how his focus and fierce determination have quickly brought him back from a hamstring injury just in time for the upcoming football season.

Malik was like a tornado of energy, agility and drive when he came in each day. The floor would actually shake as he attacked each and every exercise.

It was exciting to see a patient approach his rehab with such intensity, respect and purpose. Having him in the clinic was a great reminder of what can happen when we engage and turn up the dial in our own lives.

“I tore the ACL in my right knee which required surgery and about six months of therapy. I thought this would feel so long, but it's already been over four months since my surgery, and it's going by quickly.

Physical therapy has made me feel better about myself and made me feel like I can overcome any obstacle. It has also made my knee feel so much better! I never expected it to improve so quickly.”

“While performing my lyrical solo at competition, my knee buckled and I went down on it. I finished my dance and came in 4th place, but after going for an MRI, it turned out I dislocated my patella, tore a ligament and chipped a bone in my knee which needed to be surgically removed.

Physical Therapy is one of the most important things you need to do in order to heal properly. There is never a reason to live in pain. You can definitely find one hour of your day to do something for yourself that will help you “Get better & Be Better.”
