Your Iron Journey

Everything’s a little easier when you know what to expect.

your first visit

You’ll meet your DPT who will be with you every step of your ‘Get Better. Be Better.’ journey. He or she will take their time during a thorough one-on-one evaluation to discover more about your personal story and unique goals.

Your DPT will do clinical assessments to uncover what’s going on with your pain or issue so they can create a customized plan for your recovery. There’s no “cookie cutter” treatment, so each plan will look different based on your individiual situation.

When you leave your initial evaluation, you’ll know how many times/week you’ll be coming to physical therapy and about how many weeks your treatment will last. Click here to read more about the factors determining how many visits you might need.

Throughout PT

Time to Get Better (Body, Mind & Spirit)

At every 45-min appointment, your DPT will assess exactly where you are so your plan can be adjusted and any physical or mental setbacks can be addressed. Every session will look different, but here’s a few things you’ll experience in PT.

  1. Hands on techniques to provide pain relief and speed healing

  2. Therapeutic exercises to build strength, endurance, flexibility, balance, and stability. You’ll work hard, but you’ll have fun along the way.

  3. Goal specific work - You’ll work on your individual goals such as returning to your sport or managing your daily activities without pain or limitation (i.e., bending, taking stairs, lifting, balancing).

  4. Home Exercises - You’ll receive a list of custom exercises to continue making progress in between appointments

Some days will be easier than others, but you’ll leave physical therapy feeling energized, and optimistic about what you can accomplish.
